Frequently Asked Questions
Still can’t find what you’re looking for? Call us today for more information!
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages build the skills they need to take part in everyday activities, or “occupations”. This can include self-care, play, learning, work and community participation. An OT works with you to make daily tasks easier and to support your independence
How does NDIS funding work for OT?
Occupational therapy is commonly funded under NDIS plans, often within Capacity Building supports. The exact funding depends on your plan and goals, and your support coordinator or planner can help confirm what’s available to you
What does an occupational therapist do?
An occupational therapist assesses how you manage everyday tasks and works with you to build skills, adapt activities or introduce equipment that makes participation easier. Support is always tailored to your individual goals and environment
Do you offer occupational therapy for both children and adults?
Yes. We support participants of all ages, from young children through to adults, and match you with a therapist experienced in your area of need.
Can I use existing NDIS funding for a Behaviour Support Assessment?
In many cases, yes. An initial assessment can often be completed using up to 10 hours of your available Capacity Building funding, billed at the standard NDIS rate, even without a dedicated Behaviour Support line item. The resulting report can then support plan reviews and funding conversations with your planner or LAC.
Where do occupational therapy sessions take place?
Sessions can take place in your home, at school or kindergarten, in your community, at our Robina clinic, or via telehealth. We work in the setting that’s most practical and comfortable for you.
What is a Functional Capacity Assessment / FCA?
An FCA is a detailed report that reviews your daily living skills and support needs. It’s often used for plan reviews, funding changes, appeals or housing applications, and gives the NDIS a clear picture of the supports you require.
Do I need a referral to access occupational therapy?
