What is an ILO Report?
An Individualised Living Options (ILO) Report is an occupational therapy assessment that explores how a participant wants to live and the support that would make it possible. Unlike more standard arrangements, ILO focuses on personalised, flexible living tailored to the individual’s preferences, relationships, and goals. The report documents the participant’s vision for living and the supports needed to make it sustainable
- A living option shaped around the participant
- Supports matched to preferences and relationships
- A focus on choice, control, and independence
- Clear documentation for the NDIS
- Some components can often be done remotely (via telehealth)
We explore your unique circumstances, capabilities, and aspirations to build a comprehensive picture of how an ILO arrangement is the most appropriate option for you. Our approach ensures the NDIS has detailed information to understand why individualised supports better meet your needs than traditional models
Individualised Living Options Reports play a crucial role in accessing funding for personalised living arrangements. These reports are not generic accommodation requests – they’re detailed proposals that demonstrate why a flexible, individualised approach is necessary and appropriate for your situation. A thorough, well-written ILO Report provides justification by identifying:
- Your functional abilities and capacity for greater autonomy in your living arrangement
- Specific support needs and how they can be met through flexible, individualised arrangements
- Why traditional group or supported living models don't suit your needs or preferences
- Your lifestyle aspirations and how ILO funding enables you to achieve them
- The specific ILO model you're proposing (living alone with support, co-living with chosen housemates, etc.)
- Evidence that ILO is reasonable, necessary, and represents value for money compared to other options
