Brenna prioritises developing genuine connections and therapeutic relationships with children and families, aiming to understand what is important, motivating, and meaningful. This understanding guides intervention and allows therapy to be tailored to each child’s strengths, interests, support needs, and goals. Brenna also prioritises working closely and collaboratively with others involved in a child’s care, including carers, educators, teachers, and other professionals.
Approach To Practice
Brenna’s approach is holistic, child-centred, strengths-based, family-focused, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She focuses on supporting children with their “just right challenges”, aiming to build capacity, support well-being, develop functional and transferable skills, increase independence, and achieve meaningful participation in everyday life.
Experience
Brenna has experience working with children of varying ages, abilities, diagnoses, and developmental needs, from kindergarten through to high school. She provides therapy across home, kindergarten, school, and various community environments, supporting children with diagnoses including ASD, PDA, ADHD, FASD, GDD, ARFID, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, and trauma histories.
